New titles, new covers, new content

My motto this year is: Don’t lose your nerve. So I’m doing a thing based entirely on Id.

I recently got my rights back on the first books I ever published: Some Kind of Magic and A Crazy Kind of Love. I’ve been wanting to revisit this series for years and now that this is in my power, I’m moving full, ahem, steam ahead.

My original series, Flirting with Fame, was released with these covers:

In November, when I first got my rights back, I recovered the first 2 books with only superficial content changes. If you’ve recently bought them, yours will look like this:

I mention this because I want to make sure people are aware if they’ve already read the series before deciding to plunk down money on the new versions.

Going forward…

The Flirting with Fame series is becoming The Most Wanted series.

What’s changed?

  • The titles. Some Kind of Magic is now I Want You To Want Me (this was actually the original title many years ago). I’ll announce the new titles as they get closer to pre-order.
  • The covers. Scroll down for a peek at I Want You To Want Me!
  • Dual POV chapters where before there was only 1 POV. (I’ve added about 30k new words from Adam’s POV for instance).
  • titles in the rest of the series as I put them up for preorder.
  • Restructuring to make the whole series more cohesive. Mainly this involved reconfiguring the band, now named The Most Wanted. (Hence the series title.) But there are new characters and some changed dynamics as well.
  • More time devoted to side characters to bring depth to the entire cast.
  • More steam content because that’s the way, uh huh uh huh, I like it. Uh huh uh huh.

As before you’ll be able to read each book as a standalone, but if you start with the new series, you’ll want to continue with it. I’ve made enough changes to break continuity.

And I know you only care about the cover so….Without further ado, behold!

I WANT YOU TO WANT ME

My best friend recognized the international rock god before I did, but by then it was too late. I’d already slept with him.

In my defense, I’d gone out to the club to support my brother’s music career, and Adam stopped by the merch table shrouded in a hoodie, sporting grungy jeans and a threadbare T-shirt from a long-forgotten AC/DC concert. How was I supposed to recognize him?

God, it gets worse.

When he asked me what I do, I half lied, “My company’s developing a perfume.” I couldn’t tell him I research boner pills on laboratory mice. Besides, it was true that a coworker had tossed me a vial of some experimental fragrance as I left work. It smelled nice so I tried it on.

Adam leaned in. “What’s it like?”

I scooted over. “I’m wearing it.”

Gaze locked on mine, he lifted my wrist and brushed his sensuous lips across my skin, breathing in whatever chemical I’d loosed on him. Just like that an electric charge sparked up my arm. I sucked in a sharp breath, and his eyes dilated black, like this intense desire had surged back toward him.

“Mmm,” he said. “You smell magical.”

I must have, because he flirted with me, bought me beers… invited me back to his place. I knew I shouldn’t go home with him. We were perfect strangers. But God, I wanted to. I wanted more. I wanted him. I thought he wanted me, too.

So when my best friend ran an image search the next day, proving the guy I’d hooked up with was THE Adam Copeland, I had to ask: How had I, a biochemist from suburban New Jersey, attracted that sexy out-of-reach rocker? And what the hell was in that perfume?

Pre-order now!

Huge thanks to LJ Anderson at Mayhem Creations for this beauty. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for the rest of the books. (And I will share them with you all first!) Hit me up via email if you want to gush with me. I’ll be releasing the new covers as I finish each book.

This has been a labor of love, and I’ll be honest I’m still figuring out what I’m going to do with the Flirting with Fame original series. It’s very likely I’ll be retiring it or making it exclusively available through my store, so go on and grab them while you can.

For the time being, this new series will only exist on my shop at least until they’re all up.

You can preorder I Want You To Want Me now, and it will drop into your inbox on 2/15.

Should you buy the new book? I’ve made a handy graphic to help answer that question.

You might want to keep an eye out if:

  • You read these books a while back and you want to dive in again.
  • You’re curious about a new POV for the guys.
  • You’re here for the extra steam.
  • You get FOMO or just like to collect things.
  • Or you’re my mom. Hi, mom.
